The Coalition partners have established a variety of ways for families to access developmental screenings for their children by using the same screening tool (ASQ-3). Such screenings ensure that all children birth to five receive periodic developmental screenings and that all children who need assessment and services access them. Screening are also available through Easter Seals on-line link, District 93 Early Childhood Center, Parents As Teachers (PAT), Teen Parent Connection home visiting program, and Metropolitan Family Services.
Partners have teamed with Easter Seals DuPage and Fox Valley to provide families access to the online developmental screening tool, ASQ-3, as well. As part of the Easter Seals National child screening effort “Make the First Five Count”, this campaign helps family members, caregivers, and child care professionals assess their infant, toddler or young child’s development to determine if the child is meeting developmental milestones, specific to their age. If the screening shows a delay in that child’s development, support can be provided early, when it has the most impact.
